First Look 'Fast 6' Set Images

Here is the first look with a few official images released (Courtesy of Vin Diesel and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson). With the sixth installment of the series, the newest Fast and Furious 6 images has helped provide us with a  few hints on the film.  With no official title revealed as of yet, we can refer it to as 'Fast 6' for now.

The exact plot of the film has yet to be explained, but after to successfully shifting from street racers to a heist film with last years 'Fast Five', director Justin Lin is taking things even further in the film, putting a team of street racers with thieving skills to use across Europe.

The first photo comes from The Rock's twitter account featuring him and fellow co-star (and MMA fighter) Gina Carano, tweeting: "'Beast & the Beauty'.. Me & my FAST 6 partner in ass kickins (and fun) @ginacarano #BadAssChick"

In the picture below also from Johnson's twitter account, taking a set photo with the caption: “On set. FAST 6. Take 1: Rock throws man into table so hard entire ceiling crashes down. #MyBad.”

Well if that doesn't have you interested already, Vin Diesel has also released a set photos from his Facebook page showing how positive Diesel is about the current production, but also categorize one of the photos as “from the trailer,” implying that early footage may be on its way. Vin Diesel releasing the photo below stating: “Proud of Our team. P.s. You really see the difference in the finished product when everyone, from crew to cast is striving to make magic. Blessed.”
Here is some more information from Screen Rant on the film:
"The still-living Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) is likely behind whatever plot twists writer Chris Morgan has come up with, as her character is one of the few that could pull the gang of racers-turned-master-criminals from their happy retirement. Conflict and motivation will be in great supply for Fast Six, with MMA fighter Gina Carano (Haywire) signed on as Hobbs’ new partner, and the likes of Luke Evans (The Hobbit, Immortals) and Joe Taslim (The Raid: Redemption) acting as new villains."

Fast 6 (not official title) opens in U.S. theaters on May 24th, 2013.

Michelle Rodriguez is back for 'Fast Six'

From the moment we were teased during a mid-credits scene in Fast Five, Michelle Rodriguez will be returning to her role as Letty in Fast and the Furious 6 (Fast Six), which begins production in Europe next month.  In addition to Michelle Rodriguez, whose role was confirmed by Variety, Fast and the Furious 6 will feature returning actors from Fast Five like Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – with familiar supporting cast such as Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Sung Kang and Gal Gadot as possibilities.

In recent news, rumors have emerged on possible casting roles, in the form of Gina Carano, Luke Evans and Rihanna? There had been rumors on Jason Statham as the potential villain, but since he is no longer available, Luke Evans might take up the villain role.

This will be the sixth installment of Fast and the Furious movie and it will follow Fast Five a little further down the road.  Universal chairman Adam Fogelson stated the following to Deadline in a recent interview:
“The question putting ‘Fast Five’ and ‘Fast Six’ together for us was: Can we take it out of being a pure car culture movie and into being a true action franchise in the spirit of those great heist films made 10 or 15 years ago?”
Here is the logic behind that move, according to Fogelson:
“So if these movies were still about street racing, there was probably a ceiling on how many people would buy tickets. We wanted to see if we could raise it out of about racing and make car driving ability just a part of the movie, like those great chases in ‘The French Connection’, ‘The Bourne Identity’, ‘The Italian Job’.”
Seems like street car racing is merely part of the show, rather than the main attraction.

Vin Diesel Confirms "Fast and Furious 6 and 7"

Fast Five left the door open during the mid-credits scene which has been expected to take place in Europe.  Also the possibility to see the return of certain characters from previous installments in the series.

Vin Diesel, star and a producer of Universal’s franchise 'Fast and Furious', said during the planning process of the new movie, the Fast and Furious creative team (director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan) realized that they would need a seventh movie for their story. The sixth and seventh are being written simultaneously.  With (up in the air) rumors to feature Jason Statham to the cast in the upcoming movies, would be a great addition to the film. Again, they are just rumors, but I am anxious to find out in future news on the Fast and Furious series!

Here is what Diesel told THR:
“With the success of ['Fast Five'], and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space… We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!’”
Fast and Furious 6 is stated to hit U.S. theaters on May 24th, 2013, expect to hear more about both films over the upcoming months.
“It’s not about the action and the cars, which initially appealed to me when I was 25 years old,” said Walker. “Because if that’s all it was, it would have fallen off a long time ago.”
