Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel | News

Yes! Announced a day ago, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel! For all you Borderland Fans, this game is currently being co-developed by Gearbox Software and 2K Australia, which will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC later this fall.

The game sets in between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, launching you to Pandora's Moon. With four all-new characters you'll fight alongside Handsome Jack, assisting with the rise of the Hyperion Corporation.

Evolve: Happy Hunting | Official Trailer

From Turtle Rock Studios, creators of Left 4 Dead, comes a new multiplayer series, Evolve.  Where a team of four hunters are in pursuit of a giant monster, while facing other monsters as the giant waits.  "Who's hunting who?"  The four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled Monster in an high intense 4v1 matches.  You will be able to play as the Monster to use savage abilities and animalistic senses to kill your human enemies, or you can choose one of four Hunter classes (Trapper, Support, Assault, and Medic).  Team up to take down the beast on the planet Shear, where flora and fauna as a adversary to man and monster alike. Level up to unlock new Hunter or Monster Characters as well as upgrades, skins and perks.  You can earn your infamy on the leader boards and become the apex predator.  The next generation of multiplayer shooters is coming this Fall/Autumn 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

CES 2013: Razer Edge Gaming Tablet

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2013 began on Tuesday, January 8th and ends on Friday January 11th in Las Vegas, NV. There are so many articles being written as I am writing this one, so I will only cover a few of them but will link you to some great websites for more information  because there is so much to share its exciting!

This is the new Razer Edge PC gaming tablet! Formerly known as Project Fiona, it is a 10.1-inch tablet running  Windows 8, Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, internal storage up to 256GB;and Nvidia GeForce GT640M LE graphics. This little beast looks like just a tablet but this  powerful Edge has the muscle of a high-powered gaming ultrabook/Laptop.

The Edge can transform into a few different modes: a handheld dual-controller case, adding gaming console-like buttons and sticks that makes the Edge a large gaming handheld. There is also a dock that offers external HDMI and USB connectors to plug into a TV and add additional gaming controllers, for two-player simultaneous gaming. The dock can be used with a larger-screen monitor or TV, or as a standalone device.

There is also a keyboard accessory and both the keyboard and the game pad accessories support a removable battery that doubles the life of the Edge. Razer estimates the Edge has 2 hours of power during general tablet use, and around 1 hour when you're playing games.  Now as a gamer myself that is too little of a battery life, but there are few out there that can use this tablet for their liking. There are different modes to use the Edge but its all depending on the accessories you will use.

The Edge costs $999 in its base configuration with a Core i5 chip, 4GB of RAM, and a 64GB solid-state hard drive. 

The $1,299 Edge Pro model will get a bump to Core i7, 8GB of memory, and either a 128GB or 256GB SSD. A $1,499 bundle includes the game pad case. Both models are available for purchase today from online retailers and Razer's web site here, but will be available starting Q1 of 2013.  It's a bit pricey for the battery life but still I wanted to share this with you to see what is upcoming and looking like having some potential.  If battery life was better I am certain this will do good.

NEW CHARACTERS
Vorcha Soldier

• Thanks to their unique physiology and their Bloodlust ability, the Vorcha are joining the fight and are perfectly suited for the utilitarian soldier kit.

Vorcha Sentinel

• The innate aggressiveness found within the Vorcha make them shockingly durable combatants, and when coupled with their Flamer skill, the Vorcha sentinel is a force to be reckoned with.

Male Quarian Engineer

Ex-Cerberus Adept

• A result of the Illusive Man’s early experiments in enhanced human physiology, Ex-Cerberus subjects are highly skilled combat and biotics specialists. As a result, Ex-Cerberus Adepts can lay waste to the enemy with their Smash and Singularity powers.

NEW MAPS

• Firebase Jade – Surrounded by huge waterfalls, Firebase Jade overlooks an ancient reservoir built by the salarians centuries ago. Set up strategic chokepoints inside the base’s main buildings to get the jump on your enemy, and work with your team to meticulously clear each room to achieve victory.

• Firebase Goddess – Nestled in the epicenter of a Thessian metropolis, Firebase Goddess is one of the last strongholds of asari resistance against the Reapers. With its circular layout, Firebase Goddess is a tough location to control. This arena combines heavy cover and elevated firing positions, so stay light on your feet.

NEW WEAPONS

• Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle – These Cerberus-modified Mattock rifles are fully automatic. Cerberus gunsmiths reined in the recoil issues, resulting in a gun that stay on target, but delivers slightly less punch per round than a standard Mattock. As such, the weapon is typically utilized by Cerberus’ elite troopers, who train constantly to make every burst count.
• Reegar Carbine Shotgun – This electrical weapon improves upon the arc pistol’s design by generating a sustained current on its target. This weapon is named for the Quarian Reegar family, whose marines have served valiantly against the Geth.
• Krysae Sniper Rifle – This Turian antimaterial rifle is modified to kill Reaper enemies. The Krysae’s scope uses a rangefinder that adjusts to keep the target in proper proportion to the shooter, which comes in useful when the sniper is forced into close range. Its specialized ammunition is both armor-piercing and explosive. In a desperate move, the Turians released its specifications over the extranet so that nearly anyone with a fabricator could manufacture this weapon to help the war effort.
