Assassins Creed Movie and New Writers!

Two new writers have been hired to rewrite the existing draft for Ubisoft's adaptation of Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage have begun working on the script, the talented duo wrote the original draft of this years highly anticipated Ridley Scott's biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings.

If Cooper and Collage stick to plan, we should see some variation of Fassbender being kidnapped by a secret organization and forced to experience the memory of his assassin ancestors while on mission's to locate mankind-controlling artifacts and running up walls!

Ubisoft has a total of six movies currently in production, in which Assassin's Creed is a high priority project in Hollywood in attempt to capitalize on the popularity of their video games by making movies based on them.  Also in production, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rabbids.

Ubisoft's Far Cry 3 HUD Patch And Accolades Trailer

I had to add this to the blog, which I know many of you have this game already, I must say you made a very wise choice! Far Cry 3 is a spectacular game, but although it's a great game, there are also many complaints players have with Far Cry's busy screen game clutter or as you might say a heads-up display. Having to look up at the screen all the time being told what to do can be a big mess especially for gamers that are really good and don't need all that clutter.

Ubisoft announced an upcoming patch which will allow players to tweak the HUD to their liking. The company stated that the upcoming patch will allows users to simply strip the entire thing out. “Based on feedback from both press and fans, the Far Cry 3 production team is working on a patch that will allow you to toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference,” - Ubisoft representative, whom wrote in Kotaku.

No release date on the patch, but this news will help alleviate the complaints. Hopefully it gets released soon!

Ubisoft has recruited actor Tom Hardy to star in "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell," a film adaptation of its popular video game franchise, as leading man Sam Fisher.  Attached to write for the company is Eric Warren Singer, known for (The International) as well as for American Bullsh**t, a film about the FBI’s ABSCAM corruption case of the ’70s and ’80s, which has attracted Oscar-nominated director David O. Russell (The Fighter) and a cast including, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams.
Hardy will play 'Splinter Cell' hero, Sam Fisher, a highly-trained special operative in a fictional black-ops operation unit called Echelon.  The game series revolves around various ‘impossible mission’ scenarios Fisher must navigate, with plenty of back story.  The games’ appeal is mainly found in all of which require a combination of stealth, cunning, resourcefulness.

The project is the second major movie based on one of its properties that Ubisoft is looking to get on the big screen after setting up 'Assassin's Creed'.

"Tom Hardy is currently one of the biggest talents in the film industry, and he has a phenomenal ability to take on complex and varied roles with his broad range of acting skills," said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Michael Fassbender and 'Assassins Creed' Movie

Michael Fassbender has signed to star and co-produce in UMP (Ubisoft Motion Pictures) 'Assassins Creed' movie through his DMC film banner.  As many of you know Michael Fassbender featured in many roles under his belt (300, Band of Brothers, X-Men First Class, Shame, Haywire, Prometheus) and has established himself as a rising star.

UMP CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet had the following to say about the actor (via Variety):
“Michael Fassbender was our first choice. Michael (Fassbender) is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.”
Already having Michaal Fassbender at on board, has this development headed in the right direction. Only makes this news more exciting, being that many games turned to movies success rate was low.  I feel this is going to draw in the crowd.

UMP signed with Sony, has been developing the property independently to retain greater creative control.  But no word yet on production, it is only in development, will keep you posted as more news comes out.

Ubisoft biggest franchise game 'Assissins Creed' revolves around a man who learns his ancestors were trained assassins after he is kidnapped by a secret organization with ties to the Knights Templar, and sent back in time to retrieve historical artifacts.

Official E3 Ubisoft Assassin's Creed 3 Trailer

Some more E3 coverage on Ubisoft Assassin's Creed 3. As many of you heard yesterday Assassin's Creed 3 is going to offer high-sea battles and new cover mechanics. A more in depth article states "Multiplayer also returns, and it remains the same, for the most part, with a few new options and game modes. One example was a domination map that requires you to hold or capture a territory. This sounds simple enough, but when you don’t know which characters are enemies, and anyone sitting in the designated area may be an opponent, things can get tense. " - Digital Trends

You are Connor, warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. As the colonies draw closer to revolution, you will become the spark that ignites the revolution into a full blaze. Your crusade will lead you through blood-soaked battlefields. You will not only witness history...you will make it.

Watch as Connor traverses the vast Frontier on a mission to assassinate an enemy who infringes upon his people's freedom and liberty. More Info: The American Colonies, 1775. As a Native American Assassin fights to protect his land and his people, he will ignite the flames of a young nation's revolution. In Assassin's Creed® III, eliminate your enemies with guns, bows, tomahawks, and more! In development for over three years, the game features the new Ubisoft-AnvilNext engine, a stunning technology that will revolutionize gaming.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier Pushed to May 2012 Release

Ubisoft announces a May 2012 release video on January 10, 2012 by IP Development Director Adrian Lacey. Also giving us an update beta release date for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April. And yes, there is confirmation on a PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Adrian explains, one of the reasons for the push back is that they "want to improve all the foundations of Ghost Recon Future Soldier." Being that the content is complete, they "just want to take that extra couple of months to make sure that your experience is perfect." Well that sounds good to me, but for real, how many years have we've been waiting for this game? I am a lover of all Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Series. I will wait as long as it takes to get my hands on this beauty! They seem so focused on the quality of the game. So for now enjoy the videos, and Mr. Adrian Lacey, thanks for updating us in video!

Assassin's Creed Revelations - Reviews

Time has come! Assassins Creed Revelations, being released at midnight throughout many locations in the nation. I am positive there are still people standing in line waiting for their copy. Let's get some facts in about the game. As we know, this is the end of Ezio's adventure, yes, my friends, confirming his last time as being the hero. Some of us have complained in the past about getting tired of him being the hero, but it's hard not to feel a bit of sadness as his story comes to an end.

In Revelations, he genuinely grows as a character. This is a big game with well over 30 missions. And if you're invested in the Assassin's Creed storyline, you simply have to finish it - even if the idea of spending another 30 hours as Ezio puts you off. Revelations' final hours not only explicitly hints at the direction of the next game in the series, but puts to rest one of its biggest mysteries in a memorable and dramatic way.

Ultimately, there are many reviews and mostly many claiming the reliance on recycled gameplay as its biggest flaw. But when it's good, it's really good, also having some very funny scenes. There are many moments that make the game worth it, and ensures this is an excellent value for the price.

As Ezio's journey comes to an end, the haunting ending in Assassins Creed | Revelations suggest the next game will be something very interesting, indeed.  Other than being almost the same game we've played in the past this is an entertaining, imaginative action-adventure game with an engaging story full of surprises.

Assassin's Creed Revelations E3 Trailer [North America]

And that is all... this trailer speaks for itself! This is just Incredible! Assassin's Creed Revelations has the whole world amped up for the release of this game! This is the fourth installment in it's series. Let me just tell you this game looks amazing! This trailer is one of those trailers you cannot, and I mean cannot stop watching! This game will be released on November 15, 2011. The storyline itself is so intriguing, the gameplay and the fight scenes left me in amazement! There is no doubt this game will live up to it's promises. I will be number "I don't' know what" to get this game on day 1! In this game Ezio Auditore will travel East in search of the Lost Library of Assassin's, on his journey he discovers five ancient seals that hold the keys to the future Assassins Brotherhood. He will face a "growing army of Templars that will threaten to destabilize the region." This game truly is an award-winning story, with more efficient gameplay and new arsenal weapons and abilities. With expanded multiplayer experience with more modes, maps and characters that will allow "you to test your assassin skills against others from around the world." After all this, I think this will make a great movie if one ever decides to make one!
