Need for Speed™ Rivals | Teaser Trailer

EA's new Need For Speed Rivals trailer looks insane!  If this did not grab your attention, check out what they have in store for you. This all new gameplay is not like what we've seen on most Need For Speed Series, with new multi-player options, free to choose racer or cop, personal customization and no waiting lobbies?! Need for Speed Rivals will be available for the new upcoming PS4 and XboxOne later this year.  But will be released for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 on November 19, 2013.

High Stakes Rivalry
Racers are lone wolves out for their own glory; driving agile cars built for high speed racing and epic chases. Cops work in teams to hunt down and bust racers using the full power of the police force.
Switch roles at any time and watch the stakes grow in an all-new scoring system that lets you put your speed points on the line to earn even greater rewards.

All-Drive
New in Need for Speed Rivals, All-Drive destroys the line between single-player and multi-player gameplay. Seamlessly join a world where your friends are already racing and chasing. No lobbies. No waiting.  Paths cross and experiences merge, creating a world where your race and your friend's pursuit collide.

Next-Gen Racing
The power of the Frostbite 3 gaming engine brings the breathtaking scope and high speed action of Redview County to life. Every detail of the game world is rendered in stunning, high definition, next generation graphics, while weather conditions constantly change as you race and chase in snow, hail, rain, dust storms and heavy fog.  Connect with the Need for Speed Network to drop roadblocks or alert friends of inbound cops. Compare your progress against your rivals and share pictures of your best races and chases.

Your Car, Your Identity
Power up your car with the latest upgrades in pursuit technology and personalize your bodywork with fresh paint jobs, liveries, custom license plates, rims, and decals to show off your car to the world.
Save different configurations and keep a variety of car packages on alert to leave your mark no matter the situation.

Pursuit & Evasion Tech
Intense racing moments are made even more thrilling with access to technology and upgrades customized to each side of the law.  Racers can choose evasion technology from jammers to electromagnetic pulses. Cops are outfitted for aggressive busts with shockwaves, roadblocks, helicopter support and more. No matter the side you choose, use technology to stay one step ahead of your rivals.

Need for Speed Movie in the Works

That's right, Need for Speed movie is in the works.  Yesterday news came out that DreamWorks has acquired the movie rights to the franchise with EA to produce it with John Gatins and Mark Sourian. Director Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) is attached to direct the film, for a 2014 release.

"I'm excited about getting back into the creative trenches with John and George Gatins and my partners at EA to bring to life an exhilarating script based on an epic video game that seems to have been made for the movies," said Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Chairman. "This is a big piece of business for DreamWorks and we are grateful to Frank Gibeau, Pat O'Brien, Kevin Maher and John and George for choosing us to deliver their goods."

The film  is planned as a "fast-paced, high-octane film honoring the tradition of the awesome super fast car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.

Now for the outcome of this movie, who knows, but we all know that almost every movie made from a video game is always terrible.  With that being said, it involved fast cars, I am curious on the outcome on this film. I have played every Need for Speed game ever made, I mean who doesn't like fast cars? Just saying. But with Scott Waugh to direct it, this might actually have some potential.  Act of Valor is on my favorites list, with all the action packed scenes, it was intense.  So we'll just have to wait and see how this all turns out.

New Need For Speed Announced!

A new Need For Speed game was announced during EA's investor conference today.  The publisher has also dated the release of a new Need for Speed title in the fourth quarter this year, which should be sometime in the fall. No specifics were given about the game as of yet,  but we expect EA to make a big announcement at E3 next month.

"There’s no further information today but watch for several big product announcements from EA at E3 in June," a spokesperson said.

The game has yet to be officially announced.

Will keep you updated as more information comes in.

Need for Speed The Run E3 Press Conference Gameplay Demo

This impressive Need for Speed The Run trailer is completely different from what we are used to in the Need for Speed game series. I have played and beat every single one. There were a few I didn't like as much almost felt like they didn't know what to do with the game and it got really boring for me. I was disappointed because I have always been a loyal gamer in Need for Speed. But now they come up with Need for Speed The Run! what! I want to get my hands on this one. The fact that you can get out of the car and engage in missions is wild! This is the most cinematic and dramatic game in it's series. I was very impressed, there is even an actual story in this game about an illegal cross-country race. The preview gives an edge of your seat kinda thrill, I hope the game is as much fun as it looks. This game will be available in November 2011 for sure, I know because they always get released around my birthday. (smiles) No really, it will be available for November 15, 2011 a day before my birthday... wink wink... in case anyone wants to send me a gift. The game will be available in PS3, XBOX360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PC platforms. If you want to pre-order head over to http://www.needforspeed.com/therun/store where you can pre-order from Orgin, GameStop, Amazon.
